Advent at St. John's - The lighting of the fourth Advent candle- Love and the lighting of the final Advent candle - Jesus is the Light of the World.

Yesterday we thought about how not all gifts can be wrapped and put under the tree. We remembered the innkeepers gift of warmth and shelter for Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus; the angels' gift of joy and peace in their good news to the shepherds and the love and care Mary and Joseph gave to their new baby. We also thought about how we can live out our school values as gifts to others- kindness, love, honesty, forgiveness and friendship.

As we lit our fourth Advent candle, we thought about how it represents LOVE and that God sent his only Son for us at Christmas time.

The final candle is the white central candle where we thought about how Jesus is the Light of the World.

We wish you a very Happy Christmas from all the staff and children at St John's!
