Year 4 - Ribchester Roman Museum Trip - Thursday 18th January.

As part of this terms topic on ‘Romans’ we will be visiting the Roman Museum at Ribchester, near Preston on Thursday 18th January. The museum contains many artefacts charting the history of this beautiful and historic part of Lancashire, from Neolithic to Roman times and beyond. It has one of the most educational and interesting Roman displays in the northwest and a collection of Roman artefacts unrivalled in Lancashire.

 

Year 5 - Turton Tower Trip -  Wednesday 24th January

As part of this terms Tudor topic, Year 5 will be visiting Turton Tower, on Wednesday 24th January to take part in a “Meet the Tudors” workshop. Children will tour the house with costumed interpreters, looking at different lives lived by the rich and poor. Pupils will be able to handle replica objects from the period and learn a Tudor dance!

 

Year 6 -  Eureka – Children's Museum Trip - Thursday 1st February

As part of this terms topic covering the circulatory system/human body, Year 6 will be visiting Eureka Children’s Museum in Halifax, on Thursday 1st February. The children will be able to look around the extensive galleries including “All about Me”, a look into how our body works.

 

Year 1 -  Wild Discovery – Ribby Hall Village Trip - Wednesday 7th February

Whilst at the Discovery Park, children will take part in a unique variety of activities, whilst learning about animals in their habitats in ‘Hot and Cold Climates’.

 

Year 2 - Blackburn Museum Trip - Thursday 8th February

Whilst at the Museum their visit will be divided into three parts; first, they will look at toys, both old and new and explore the ways in which we can tell ‘old’ from ‘new’. At the same time the children will learn how the old toys were played with and have a go themselves before, finally, sitting down and making their own toy to take back to school.
